15th of April 2016 – The two companies RSM Group AS and Eiken Mek. Gruppen AS are merging. The new company aims to become a major actor in the renewable energy market. “With this merger, our products and solutions become even more competitive – specially in the market for renewable energy and waste management”, says Stein Sørvig, CEO of RSM.
Today, a Letter of Intent has been signed between the two companies. The merger is planned to finalizes within August 2016. Total turnover will be around 150m NOK, with 70 employees. It is not decided what the new company will be named.
Eiken Mek. in Hægebostad, Vest Agder County, have supplied equipment to the offshore industry since 1975. In 2014 Private Equity company Daimyo AS became a major shareholder in the company. As the market for offshore deliveries became more challenging, Eiken Mek. had to re-structure itself and have lately focused more on renewable energy and waste management.
– With this merger, a strong industrial group of companies with comprehensive industrial knowledge and experience, from deliveries of equipment for oil and gas, to complete plants for renewable energy and recycling, is formed, says Espen Aubert, General Manager of Daimyo AS and Chairman of the Board at Eiken Mek .
RSM supplies systems and equipment for renewable energy and waste management. The company also performs tank revisions and maintenance of gas plants. Stein Sørvig is General Manager of the company.
– We look forward to merging with Eiken Mek says Sørvig. We shall continue current activities, but now we can focus more on renewable energy. Group owners and employees have extensive experience with everything from waste management, engineering and construction of facilities, to operation and maintenance. About Eiken Mek. Gruppen AS (EMG):
The group includes the companies: (1) Eiken Mekaniske Verksted AS, a mechanical workshop with extensive experience in hydraulic machinery and equipment for the offshore industry and other markets. The workshop consists of four well equiped production departments with a total area of 4000 square meters, as well as a large test area; (2) Enerquip AS which was started in 2008. Enerquip is an engineering company which designs equipment like screen rakes, thrash racks, hatches and other mechanical equipment for Hydropower Plantswater and Waste Treatment Plants, (3) Eiken Mek. Services which offers certified welders and pipe fitters to pipe laying projects for district heating and for maintenance of offshore equipment; and (4) Clover Energy Services B.V., a Dutch company that provides maintenance, operation and modification of energy facilities.
