Glasgow Recycling & Renewable Energy Centre (GRREC)

Glasgow Recycling & Renewable Energy Centre (GRREC)

29th of January 2015 RSM signed a contract with Interserve Construction Limited, and will be delivering furnace components and ash transport system for the GRREC project in Scotland.

Waste is a resource, and the Glasgow facility will utilize this by sorting, recycling and transforming waste to energy. This will be done by using Energos’ gasification technology, which is a proven, best practice green technology and a cleaner alternative to mass burn incineration. RSM will produce and deliver furnace components for this technology, as well as the ash transport system for the plant.

The three furnace lines in Glasgow will be able to process 144 400 tonnes of waste a year. It will generate 11.05 MW of green electricity - sufficient to power 14 000 homes.
